n July 2002 and thanks to the financing of the European Fund for Regional Development INTERREG III A, the "Por un Pirineo Vivo / Pyrénées Vivantes" (Living Pyrenees) Project was started up, whose members are the Foundation for the Conservation of Bearded Vultures (FCQ), the Department of the Environment of the Government of Aragon, the Bird Protection League (LPO) of France and the public company, Gestión Ambiental Viveros y Repoblaciones de Navarra, S.A. (GAVR).

   This Project aims basically at developing common methods to promote the concerted management of Pyrenean biodiversity and of environmental education actions, through the Bearded Vulture Conservation Programme in the Pyrenees.
