of Africa, whilst in the
east and south of Africa,
the subspecies (Gypaetus
barbatus meridionalis)
is found, mainly in South
Africa and Lesotho (Mountain
range of Drackensberg),
Ethiopia and some isolated
gold-African enclaves
of Kenya, Tanzania and
Uganda.
