Feed
ones form the basis of their diet, it being the only “osteophage” (bone-eater) bird on the planet, calculating that it needs between 250 and 500 grams of bones each day.

    Its common name in Spanish (Quebrantahuesos” (bone-breaker) comes from the particular technique it has to consume its food.
   This technique consists in breaking up the large bones, which it cannot eat, into smaller pieces which are easier to consume. These are thrown into the air in rocky areas which we call “breakers”.
