Project justification

n collaboration with the Dutch Foundation Lammergier Fonds work is being carried out to reform the old Juan Bernad house, in the town of Revilla (Huesca).

With typical Pyrenean architecture, this small rural village is located next to the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido. Here the restoration of an abandoned 16th century building has been proposed for use as a centre to house environment researchers and professionals, who consecrate their researching work to monitoring the processes related to the study of the physical medium and the mountain ecology of the Pyrenees, understanding as such, the biological, geographical, geological and ethnographical aspects.

As an “outdoor classroom”, its use is also contemplated for other aspects related to the organisation of practical seminars or training courses on the subjects mentioned, as well as other aspects such as environmental education and rural development.
