Objectives
he general objective of this Project is to achieve, within a certain length of time, the conservation of the natural heritage of an area in the Pyrenees as well as its socio-economic development under environmentally sustainable criteria, and its specific objectives are:
1) Disseminate the need to propose sustainable development alternatives, starting up a local pilot experiment, with the possibility of extrapolating them to other mountain areas.
2) Foster reforestation with autochthonous species, which will help create more stable ecosystems, and which are compatible with local agricultural and stockbreeding exploitations.

3) Accommodate the environmental voluntary initiatives within the social and environmental criteria and needs of the area.
4) Facilitate the maintenance of the trophic resources for the bearded vulture and other scavenger birds of prey, supporting the maintenance of traditional middens compatible with the current health regulation.
5) Contribute to the development of lines of support to extensive stockbreeding, to the conservation of autochthonous breeds and to the maintenance of non-aggressive farming with the environment.
6) Generate economic resources in the area of action, favouring the reasonable development of non-massive or concentrated tourism at certain times of year and which, therefore, will not need an overdimensioned tourist infrastructure.
The maintenance of middens is extremely important for many scavenger birds

7) Disseminate the historical and monumental value of the monastery of San Beturian and foster its restoration and fitting out as an endogenous resource at the service of local socio-cultural development.
8) Foster the recovery and valorisation of the local cultural heritage.
9) Foster environmentally friendly Eco Tourism, facilitating the establishment of support infrastructure for the tourist activity such as accommodation and restaurants, accompanied by the start-up of initiatives, which will facilitate the understanding and valorisation of the natural heritage by means of interpretation tools.
