   The Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded vulture is a national non-governmental organisation, which carries out actions related to research, conservation and public information, aimed at recovering the Bearded Vulture in the Spanish mountains. [ ... ]
   The Gypaetus barbatus is the only “osteophage” bird (bone-eater) on the planet. Its common name in Spanish “quebrantahuesos “(bone-breaker) comes from its particular technique of breaking large bones into smaller pieces to be able to eat them. These small pieces are thrown from the air in rocky areas.[ ... ]
 
   How to hire guided visits? 
   
You can find us in our office, placed at the Eco Museum Visitors Centre, Castle of Aínsa (Huesca), where you can get information about these and other routes, enjoy an exhibition about the mountain ecosystems, visit the Pyrenean fauna refuge and our Bearded Vulture gift shop.

   Reservations and enquiries can be made directly at the Eco Museum Visitors Centre, Castle of Aínsa (Huesca), from the 15th of June until the 30th of August, or by phoning our Aínsa (Huesca) office all year round (+34 974 500 597).

   This action is part of the Recovery Plan of the Bearded Vulture in Aragón.
